Kanopee Village is a camping located not far from the city of Lyon. Their website allows users to reserve a camping pitch or mobile home. On behalf of the fictitious Mondodo Agency, I carried out an audit to improve their site and reduce the reservation abandonment rate.
The audit was based on the heuristics of Bastien and Scapin, particularly relevant to web interfaces. Additional research was carried out among competitors.
1. Definition of proto-persona and user path
During researches and during the audit, I created a proto-persona Ophélie. Ophélie is 36 yo. She’s mother of two children and she has a dog. This proto-persona is based on different customers feedback on Google.

2. Accessibility and Readability
The current Kanopee Village website had major accessibility and readability issues. I recommended using higher-contrast colors and more readable typography. I also suggested avoiding text on images and instead using cards to improve text legibility.
In my proposal, carousels do not auto-scroll to prevent disrupting the reading experience. Users can manually scroll through the banner images at their own pace.

3. User Guidance and Control Over Actions
Navigating the current Kanopee Village website is particularly challenging. The main action—selecting dates to check available spots—is not intuitive.
I recommend implementing a fixed search bar at the top when users scroll. Seasonal deals are highlighted immediately on the homepage. When clicking on a card, users can access detailed information about the mobile homes. Navigation is further improved with a breadcrumb trail.

4. Reducing Information Density
The Kanopee Village homepage is overloaded with information that is not always relevant. As a result, users struggle to focus. I recommend using shorter texts and more spacing to create a cleaner, more airy layout.

5. Highlighting Customer Reviews
To encourage users to book a mobile home, it’s essential to reassure them about the campsite’s reliability. I advise Kanopee to integrate customer reviews directly on the homepage.
