At Decq, I’m working on the UX/UI redesign of an ERP alongside the project stakeholders. This software facilitates the day-to-day operations of employees working in the printing industry (both on the plant side and the customer relations side).
Make the team aware of good UX Design practices
When I arrived at Decq, I noticed that design was not yet user-centered.
In the midst of restructuring and internal professionalization, I first had to adapt. I started sowing seeds, hoping to bring my team into the exciting world of UX.
To raise my team’s awareness, I :
- Present the importance of UX Design in the design process
- lead a persona creation workshop to refocus our objectives
- Present UX Metrics
Integrating UX into model design
The heart of my mission is to ensure the layout and prototyping of interfaces. Until then, pages were designed without necessarily thinking about the overall user experience. I proposed a new way of working.
- Lead a user test on our mock-ups with our target customers
- Prioritize wireframes during the design phase
- Integrate the creation of our mock-ups by user path rather than by page
- Set up spec UX/UI documents to support front-end developers
- Collaborate with POs and challenge their US
- Set up metrics to quantify UX
Homogenize interfaces with a component library
In collaboration with our front-end developers, we set up a Design System based on the Prime component library. Our Design System allows us to focus more on UX than on UI, and to deploy our components on both our software applications.
Participate in the implementation of new work processes
The greatest challenge of the mission is not to make models, but to integrate UX into work processes. The SME allows its staff to be a driving force behind proposals. As a result, we all work closely together to ensure that projects run smoothly. We work on collaborative platforms such as Jira and Confluence.
